"Demeter"

This creation is a 100% handmade sculpture of the goddess, Demeter. Known for her connections to nature, the changing seasons, and the harvest, Demeter embodies the symbols of fertility (thus the pomegranate). The handmade ear of corn lends an aire of harvest and autumn, the time of year when Demeter was said to be preparing to go into the underworld to find her daughter, Persephone.

She shimmers with a glittery metallic gold glaze contrasting with a pop of sheer turquoise speckled with layers of floral scrolls, flecks of iridescence, and shots of hot pink. This sculpture is a completely unique, highly detailed, lifesized addition to any mythology buff's collection.

"Ophelia's Swan Song"

This cast was created from a real human form, which only enhances the haunting aura of this piece. Ophelia metamorphisized from found materials such as vintage fabric, antique beads and crystals, handmade clay music notes, feathers, and embellishments. The feathers and dripping beads were created with a frame work of guitar strings. A tiny glass swan sits nestled in amongst seed beeds and jewels. Her cloak is made of the same plaster as the form and it is accented with pieces of vintage handkerchiefs and handmade clay roses. The textured dripping lower half is a sharp contrast to her high gloss body. The backside of Ophelia is finished in a high gloss red. This sculpture sings a tune of the mysterious and slightly macabre.
